There’s truly something for everyone at this year’s Taste of Atlanta (September 25-27 in Midtown’s Tech Square), regardless of food preferences or age range. In fact, 2015 is the best year yet for festival-goers with families, thanks to our amped up Carnival’s Kids Corner. This unique family-friendly stage offers up kid-centric programming for the young foodies in your household. These 30-45 minute sessions include live demonstrations and healthy, easy-to-make-recipes that kids can replicate at home.
This stage, located at the 5th Street bridge includes the following weekend schedule of events:
Chef Mary Moore (The Cook’s Warehouse) will talk about eating healthy by adding color to your dinner plate in Eating the Rainbow.
Learn what chefs cook for their families once they’re off the clock. During What Real Chefs Feed Their Families, Carnival’s onboard chef will share his at-home repertoire.
Kids will get to test their palates and do a blind tasting of treats at Blind Bites. Presented by Morelli’s Ice Cream, this demo features a smattering of bite-sized samples crafted by a Carnival chef.
If you’ve sailed with Carnival Cruise Lines, you may already be familiar with the Carnival Chef’s Table—an exclusive, onboard, multicourse meal. In the Family Tasting Tables experience, kids and parents get to go up on stage with Carnival’s chefs and taste a range of tasty onboard dishes with a kid-friendly twist.
Forget the standard PBJ sandwich. Parents and kids can get the scoop on creating a drool-worthy lunch at Chef Ron Eyester’s (Rosebud) Lunch Box Fun Hacks.
Cheer on three kid chefs as they battle it out before a panel of kid judges as they compete for the best burger at this Burger Battle. The creator of the best burger will win a free cruise for the entire family!
Explore the world’s global produce and where different fruits and vegetables are grown at Fruits and Veggies – an Around the World Tour.
Put your food knowledge to the test at this twist on the game show Family Feud. Families will be asked to go on stage to compete against one another for a chance to win a Carnival Cruise. Runners up winners will take home a gift certificate to a local eatery.
